Aquidneck Island Sports was founded by four local families who shared the same goal: to create a high-quality, year-round training space for athletes on Aquidneck Island.
As parents, coaches, and community members, we saw the need for a facility where athletes could train consistently, build confidence, and develop their skills in a positive environment. We wanted a place that focused on development over volume, instruction over overcrowding, and community over competition.
What started as a shared idea quickly became a shared commitment — to give local athletes a space where hard work, respect, and love of the game come first.
At Aquidneck Island Sports, our team is dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. With diverse backgrounds and specialties, our coaches offer personalized guidance, motivation, and support to maximize your results. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned athlete, our experienced coaches are here to inspire and empower you on baseball or softball journey.

Erik brings decades of competitive experience and professional leadership to athlete development. A former Washington State and Southern California athlete, Erik’s foundation is rooted in baseball as a pitcher, with extensive experience in AAU and American Legion programs, including multiple Washington State championship appearances. He has competed across high school, senior, and men’s leagues in Washington State and Connecticut and remains an active player today. His athletic background is complemented by a rigorous amateur boxing career in the USA Boxing program, totaling over 40 bouts with clubs in Yucca Valley, Pasadena Police Athletic League, and Anacortes, WA.
Beyond sport, Erik served 21 years in the U.S. Navy and was selected as a Faculty Advisor at the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Newport, RI, where he mentors senior leaders in character, accountability, and high-performance culture. He brings that same standard to coaching—focusing on discipline, confidence, resilience, and long-term development both on and off the field.
